Kermit took a deep breath before putting his hand on the door handle in front of him. Behind that door was probably one of the toughest assignments in his life.

"Teach's here!" someone in the back yelled. The class of high-schoolers soon settled down.

"I'm Mr. Griffin, your teacher for the rest of the semester," Kermit said to the quiet room. "From the notes I received, this class is currently discussing British tactics during the American Revolution."

"Yeah, we was. Now, we're talking about rap music," someone in the back of the room yelled. "Nice shades by the way."

"I'll tell you all this once," Kermit growled out. "You don't behave in my class, I don't put you in detention, I don't send you to the principal's office."

"Yeah!" the same voice yelled. "My kind of teacher!"

"I flunk you," Kermit finished, pretending not to hear the interruption.

The class was silent.

"You can't do that," a teen said as he stood up.

"Actually, I can. I checked the school policies," Kermit replied. "Sit back down."

Kermit had the class read the assigned chapter and sat at his new desk. 'Why teaching?  Why did it have to be teaching? Especially at one of the toughest schools in town?' With a sigh, he pulled out the seating chart to see who was skipping class that day.

Why is Kermit teaching? What is his mission? No idea... I had a few ideas batting back and forth... He was pulled for an undercover assignment by the police... Peter got attacked and it lead Kermit back to that school... but nothing came of it... So, I just wrote that little bit and let it sit. I was going to have Kermit teach music (Can't you see him playing the piano? <g>), but decided history would be better <g>
