"I wonder what he's working on," Jodi thought aloud, nodding towards Kermit's office.

"Don't know, probably some secret merc stuff," Blake replied.

Peter stared at the closed door. Whatever it was Kermit was doing, he had brought it from the apartment in great secrecy. And Peter's peeks into the bag Kermit had carried had come up with nothing. "I'm going to find out." He opened the door to Kermit's office without knocking just in time to see Kermit shove his hand, which was holding something, under the desk.

"Do you mind?!" Kermit exclaimed with a glare.

"Sorry. Just wondering if you wanted coffee while I was up," Peter replied with an innocent grin.

"If I wanted coffee, I would have gotten up and grabbed some," the older man ground out. "Now, leave and close the door before I shoot you."

Peter held his hands up in a calming manner. "Sorry." After shutting the door, he shrugged to the bullpen. "All I saw was something white. Maybe a map."

Safely ensconced in his office once more, Kermit returned to his 'There's No Place Like Home' cross stitch sampler.
