I wrote this on IRC and was told to post it. It's a humorous fairy tale. Totally off the cuff and not beta-read.

The Prince and the Frog

Long ago, in a land far, far away, there lived a prince who led a happy, fulfilled life. His father, King Kwai Chang, was a good and thoughtful ruler and taught his son many things.

However, Prince Peter knew something was missing from his life. He rode through the countryside countless times, but could never find what he was missing.

His father kept out of Prince Peter's way, as he knew he'd find the missing thing on his own.

A year passed, and still Prince Peter searched. He searched the valleys. He searched the mountains. He searched the plains and the forests.

Finally, he came to a tree stump on the edge of the forest. There sat a frog wearing a pair of sunglasses.

"A frog with sunglasses?" Prince Peter asked aloud.

"You have a problem with that?" the frog asked in reply.

Prince Peter nearly fell from his horse. "You can talk!"

"Well, yeah. Of course I can talk. I may be in the form of a frog, but I wasn't born a frog."

"How did you become a frog then?"

"An evil spell of course. Were you dropped on your head or something as a child?" the frog asked. Even though he couldn't see, Prince Peter was certain the frog was rolling it's eyes at him from behind the black plastic.

"But, *why* were you turned into a frog?"

"To stop me from warning the prince about a dastardly plot against him."

Peter did a double take. "But, I'm the prince!"

"Uh huh, and I'm the Queen of Sheba. Tell me another one kid."

It took Peter a few minutes to convince the frog that he was the true prince. Finally, Kermit gave his warning.

"A sorceress is going to cast a spell so that you turn the kingdom over to her. She's power mad."

"Well, thanks for the warning," Peter stated. "Can I do anything for you?"

"Yeah, take me with you. I want that bitch to reverse the spell," Kermit replied.

"Sure, hop on." Peter winced slightly at his choice of words. "Sorry."

The two rode off and began the search for the sorceress.

The two became close over time. Finally, they found the sorceress and brought her to justice. However, the plan to turn Kermit back into a human ran into just a *little* problem.

"I have to *WHAT*?!" Kermit exclaimed.

"Get a kiss from a man who loves you," the sorceress replied. "The spell was created to turn women into frogs actually."

Kermit started to hop away, dejected, thinking that the one man he loved would never kiss him.

"Come here," Prince Peter said before picking Kermit up and planting a big wet one on his lips.

There was a big *POOF!* and Prince Peter was suddenly cradling the face of the man he loved.

Prince Peter had finally found the thing in his life he was missing, and they (and the kingdom) lived happily ever after.
