Long time between posts.
Here's the deal: I'm seriously considering giving up this blog in favour of rolling it into my current events blog. See, the CE blog was a group blog, but theres no more group, just me. So it's becoming increasingly difficult to maintain content on two blogs (actually three, as I participate here as well). I'm anticipating changing the name of the CE blog from A Gaggle of Gals (and one guy) to Absinthe and Cookies, to better reflect the whole no group thing [g], so I thought it might also be the time to revert back to having one blog. I haven't made a final decision, but I just wanted to give a heads up to my small group of loyal readers :)
Posted by Ith at July 13, 2003 1:52 PMI'm sticking to my original sentiment...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
So there... :P
Posted by: Paul Jané on July 13, 2003 4:08 PMBut why?? Seriously :)
Posted by: Ith on July 14, 2003 9:55 AMWell, because it's personal, it's your own little corner, it's you. (Jeebus, there's even a picture of you up here.)
The Gaggle (or, the Cookies, from now on) has more of a business-like thing going on for it. Hence why my expectations are very different when I visit either page, and hence why I like things the way they are (even though you never updated my link in your blogroll over here :P).
If it ain't broke (and it definitely ain't)... You know the drill.
Just my .02$
:)
Posted by: Paul Jané on July 14, 2003 3:27 PMIt makes sense -- sort of why I would like to keep it.
I haven't updated anything since May. See, that's what I mean, it gets neglected. So, you think even if I rarely post, and it languishes for months with no attention, I should still keep it?
Posted by: Ith on July 14, 2003 3:34 PMNormally, you have one posting every day or two up here, and I'm more than happy with that, because it's not really mass-market-oriented (so to speak), contrary to what's posted on The Cookies. It's not as though anyone expects you to post every single personal thought that you have up here, but the personal touch in each of your posts makes it worthwhile and different.
(Am I making any sense?)
At any rate, look at it this way: would the Virtual Vacation thing that you've got going on one post down from here (or that extremely personal and touching post about your recently-deceased cat) fit in over at The Gaggle?
I honestly don't think so; then again, it could just be me.
Posted by: Paul Jané on July 15, 2003 10:34 AMA lot of what you say mirrors my feelings as well. However, with a name change and combinging the two, maybe it would change the feel. Michele, Rachel, and Andrea post personal stuff along with news oriented stuff, so maybe that's what I think I'm going for. I dunno :)
For now, I'm going to keep this one open until I get Gaggle changed over and get used to the new format for a while. So Muse is safe for a few months [g]
Posted by: Ith on July 15, 2003 10:45 AMI think it would be a shame to lose the Muse. My posts to the Slutertarian HQ are fun but less frequent, and far less my own, than the ones I make to the Flea so perhaps our bloggy situation is reveresed. I know the analogy is not perfect...
