So we took the truck to the GM dealer today and they told me what was wrong wasn't covered under warranty (is anyone surprised?)They claimed the transmission hoses were leaking, so bad in fact, they were pooling transmission fluid in their bay. It would be at least $400 to fix. So, at this point, I'm a basket case. My mum gets my father to call our mechanic and apparently he went ballistic. He's going to call the dealer and tell them they've lost their collective minds. One of the guys at work told me what they were saying sounded like a way to get around honouring the warranty, and a friend of my mums checked out drive and said there was not a trace of any sort of leak there. So I'm at anxiety level peak right now. My tummy is so upset and my fingers are twitching. But now it's the weekend and I can't do anything about it till Monday. Tequila anyone?
The other thing that happened today: the holiday lunch. Apparently the SF office has always had a Thanksgiving lunch. Starting three Thanksgivings ago, we got one too. First one I missed because we were stuck in Barstow, getting the frelled transmission replaced! (the very one!) This year I didn't even know about it! I found out an hour before, and promptly said I wasn't going because I had on jeans and a company shirt. I'm the office manager, but I work in a warehouse, so usually, I dress for warmth and in clothing that can sustain damage from open case hasps and such. Anyway, I wasn't going out to a nice restaurant dressed like that! So, one of the guys took me home so I could change. Turned out everyone thought everyone else had told me about it.
So we did that and came back to the office and a barrage of voicemails about my truck and my lunch not settling well [sigh] Now I sit waiting for my brother to pick me up.....
Hours later.... just as I was typing that last lune, the bro guy showed up! So now, I'm actually posting this :)
