This month has sucked dead bunnies through a straw, let me tell you! First, I get to shell out bucko bucks to get my cracked tooth crowned, but I felt I had it covered. I knew I had to get my front brakes done on the Jimmy, so I've been saving. I had those done yesterday. But, this is my life, so nothing could be that simple. I had them also just check out things because I'm paranoid after all the trouble I've had with the truck. Turns out the little things I'd been noticing were actually serious. First off, the transmission is going. It's brand new, put in two years ago in Barstow when we broke down there. Thank god it's still under warranty! But I'm so worried that the GMC dealer here will try and weasel out of honouring the warranty. Second thing; it turns out the head gasket is getting ready to go. It could cost anywhere from $600 to $2000 to fix depending on how bad the damage is. I have to keep hope that it won't be at the high end of the estimate, but my nerves are shot at this point. My anxiety level is over the top right now, and it's taking a massive effort to not just break down in tears. I'm trying to remember all the good things, but it's really hard sometimes.

See? Even ol' Shakespeare was in tune with that whole 'when it rains it pours' thing. *Sigh* I know what you're talking about. And the car thing used to totally strike fear into my heart. I'm so glad I don't need one here. One less thing to worry about. Argh.
You'll pull through it though. These things have a way of working themselves out even as we tie ourselves in knots over them. Hang in there.
Posted by: Jen on November 21, 2002 6:29 PMSorry to hear about your tooth too! My wonderful dentist gave me a pile of Tylenol 3's to get me thru the weekend. I've got you bookmarked (finally) and will have to explore your site more when there are fewer drugs coursing thru my system. ;)

Gaile, my site may be more intersting with the drugs! Thanks for visiting :) I love the look of your journal. It's lovely.
