Remembrance Day

I spent part of my childhood in Canada, and come from a Canadian/British family. So while today is Veterans Day, it is also Remembrance Day to me. I still wear my poppy, like I did in Canada, to remember those who died to keep us free. Our liberty is not without price and today especially, we need to remember that.

If you know a veteran, or someone currently serving, tell them you appreciate the sacrifices that they made for us. And pray that come next Remembrance Day, there will be no more souls added to the rolls.

In Flanders Fields
John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
