I got to see the Ennis Sisters in concert last night at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA, and it was a great concert!
I even got a chance to meet Karen and Maureen at a party that was held after the concert. I probably babbled when I spoke to them :) (I always feel like I'm bothering the artist if I get a chance to speak to them so i try to speak really fast. That means I end up babbling and forgetting what I was going to say!) Oh, and Maureen autographed their new CD for me! Karen and Teresa had quite a crowd around them, and Nin wanted to start heading home -- it's an hour drive and it was already past 11:30 -- so hopefully, I'll get them to sign the CD next time around!
They said that the CD will be released in the US in the New Year. time for me to start emailing KTOM again about playing them! I bugged them a few times over the year, but now the CD is coming out here, I think it's time to renew my efforts!
The opening act was Kendra MacGillivray and her family. Kendra is a great fiddler, her brother plays keyboards, and her sister, Sabra, dances and plays bodrahn. They put on an amazing show! It was a real treat.
And if the concert wasn't enough, there was a party afterwards that came a total surprise! Over at the villa, they had finger food, deserts, beer and wine. The big fire place was roaring, and the attendees got to mingle with the artists. It was a delightful end to an already terrific evening!
